FINAL UPDATE

Q: What’s been happening since the last update?

A: Well, we’ve been really busy organising the day. In fact, the “news” leaked (with a little help – of course) and we’ve been supported by lots of gifts and offers of great things to the proud couple. Naturally, we couldn’t accept such unconditional kindness (completely) but, alas, we have succumbed to some of life’s temptations – tell you about it later… 

Q: Please be more specific about the publicity – I have a reputation to consider?

A: Our wedding will be featured on Living TV’s “Four Weddings” and Vera is already jet-setting to the other three weddings included in the series. China TV (CNTV1) is also sending a team to “cover” our unusual event – the only thing we have been told about this is that this channel has a global audience of 300 million!

We would like to reassure all guests that there is no intention what-so-ever for our wedding, and its attendees, to be perceived as anything other than good fun and light-hearted British humour.

Q: I’m really getting concerned about what I should wear. Please help?

A: When you’re in bed, in the silent few moments before you drop off, aren’t you like me and have moments of flash-backs to when you used to go out on a Saturday night wearing something that used to make you feel really good? You know, like the opening scene of Saturday Night Fever – remember? The white suit…the shiny shoes…the polka-dot skirt…the Victorian fantasy…the Bee-Hive hair…the bright-coloured silk shirt…the elbow gloves…the dark sunglasses…Well, wear whatever you like that makes YOU feel good! This is YOUR chance to get away with it!

Q: Do I need to bring anything?

A: YES! This is absolutely essential to ALL GUESTS and COMPULSORY.

     Please bring with you TWO items:

• A dinner plate
• Your training shoes

Q: What should we wear?

A: Whatever you want. This is a day to remember by everyone but it’s NOT a conventional wedding! Forget those tux’s, ties, evening gowns and 1950’s shiny patent leather shoes! Remember that outfit you’ve always said you’d love to wear again but wouldn’t have the guts? Now’s your chance!

Q: What time does it all kick off?

A: 4pm but there’ll be plenty to do at the hotel from around noon!

Q: What time does it finish?

A: Around 10pm but there’ll be plenty to do at the hotel throughout the night and for those staying overnight…well…erm…come on! This IS a castle!

Q: Will there be a wedding gift list?

A: Absolutely not. Please DO NOT buy us any gifts what-so-ever. We’ve got everything already! Cash, cash, load-sa-cash is the only gift that will be accepted.

Q: Will there be any publicity and media in attendance?

A: Of course. However, if anybody specifically doesn’t wish to be filmed, photographed, interviewed, etc. that’s absolutely fine.

Q: So, what’s “wacky” about this wedding?

A: Well, to start with you’re reading this – aren’t you? Basically, the wedding will be as non conventional as we can make it – entertainment rich – wedding protocol poor! Whatever happens, we think it will be fun, eye-opening, enlightening, educational and inspiring (at least that’s for us – we’ve no idea how you’ll feel!)

Q: Will there be any pressure for audience participation?

A: No. Absolutely not. The day is not about intimidating or embarrassing anyone (apart from ourselves – of course) but it is a “close family and friend” event so just by being there you will, in fact, be participating.

Q: Will there be any further correspondence before the big day?

A: Yes! You will receive further updates as the final countdown commences – 30 days prior to 20^th October! Remember to check out the website, www.wackywedding.co.uk that will start changing very soon…
